The Lockton Affinity group consolidated multiple locations with this new office facility. With a limited budget and tight schedule, Hawthorn worked closely with design team thru a value engineering process and delivered a high quality build-out without compromising the original design intent and concept.

Reuben Perin
Reuben PerinPrincipal Architect | Contractor
Reuben has earned his architecture degree from Cornell University and an MBA in finance and marketing from Rockhurst University. He started his career in San Francisco working on high-end residential and commercial projects. He then expanded his knowledge moving to Kansas City to work on large-scale compressive commercial and civic projects and smaller community projects throughout the US, such as:

• Denver Bronco’s Stadium
• Five Minor League Baseball Ballparks
• Athletic Master Plans – Notre Dame, Purdue, and Ohio State
• Two Super Speedways
• Guangzhou Arena
• Minsk Hockey Arena
• Many commercial retail, office, and industrial commercial projects
• Many private new and renovated residence in Kansas and California

Reuben practiced architecture for the first 12 years in San Francisco and Kansas City working on residential then larger commercial and civic projects. He then transitioned over to the construction side learning the estimating and project management. For the past 14 years he has developed his construction skills as a lead estimator, project manager, and office leader for a large mid-western based general contractor.

His skills in providing and comprehending wide arrays of design styles, structures and functions, promotes his excellent standard of conscientious and stunning resolutions to sometimes complex and difficult technical integration of owners wishes into compelling built environments. As a commercial general contractor he has expanded his understanding of the built environment both from the design and constructability perspectives.

Reuben is committed to leaving a remarkable impression on all his clients, reporting willingness to “Always start a project strong, and finish strong – Keep the pedal down from start to finish. Always follow up with clients, even if it may seem small and unimportant, because it’s often the little things that people remember”

Reuben’s insatiable sense of adventure takes him and his family across the country, especially to his preferred mountains in Idaho and New Mexico. He enjoys mountain biking, mountaineering, skiing, and fly fishing with his enthusiastic family. He also enjoys involvement in the community serving on numerous community boards and committees. He has coached both his son’s lacrosse teams to winning seasons and is a co-founder of the Kansas City Boat Club where he is continuing his high school and collegiate passion for rowing and athletics.

Robin Floyd
Robin Floyd Project Management
Robin offers her expertise in a broad range of construction services, developed in her many years of owning her own construction consulting firm, and serving over 25 years in senior management roles in marketing and project management.

As a former Community Affairs Director for a national construction firm, she retains many strong relationships with the local sub-contractor community. She also has supported Kansas City’s youth learning in the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering through her involvement on the board of the National Institute of Construction Excellence, and also volunteering for the iBuild showcase event. Some of the more notable projects in the Kansas City area she has participated include:

• Kansas City Super Speedway
• Arrowhead Stadium Renovations
• Kemper Arena Upgrades
• Bartle Hall Expansion

As a detailed and diligent lead project manager, Robin adds her personal nature to a competent professionalism, bringing highly focused understanding and connection to all Hawthorn business relationships and interactions.

Robin is a skilled specialized hobby carpenter herself. In her spare time designing and customizing cabinetry in a variety of unique applications. She remains close to her family, enjoying time together in outdoor activities and relaxing at the lake.
